I am an ethnomusicologist and Tar player. I was born in Iran. I studied Iranian music performance at the Art and Architecture school of Tehran Azad University. I continued my MA studies in the field of ethnomusicology in the music department of Istanbul Technical University. Since 2009 till present I have been undertaking various fieldwork researches about women and music in Iran. I am currently completing my PhD studies at the musicology department of Cologne University. I have recently moved to Berlin and I worked as the curator of the music festival “Female Voice of Iran” in collaboration with Contemporary Opera Berlin. (March 16-19th,2017). I am looking for getting to know new musicians, new project collaborations but also bands to join as a Tar player.
