Vladimir Lessage

Story

Vlad was born on the island of Haiti. From the very young age of 3, his love of music started to shine through. His mother recalls him dancing for hours in front of the radio until he fell asleep. At age 5, he discovered the piano, which became his instrument of choice throughout the years. Vlad also enjoys singing and playing a few chords on the guitar. Today, Vlad lives near Boston in the U.S. and produces different music styles with a Caribbean flair. “Fantasy World” is the first of many hit melodies to come from this talented musician and producer.

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music is life.

What is your music dream?

I would love to produce lots of independent artists who don't have the means to get their music out there and be known as the guy who sells people their winning musical lottery ticket so to speak.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

I would start by completely eradicating hate.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

Mmm.... there are so many but for some reason, "Cherish" by Kool and the Gang is a song I remember from a very young age.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

ATB, Armin Van Buuren, Bob Marley, Coldplay, Red Hot Chili Peppers, T-Vice, Enposib, Vayb, Nicky Jam, J. Balvin, Michael Brun and so many more!

What inspires you to make music?

it's hard to explain. I just get that feeling inside and sounds, melodies and beats just come to me.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

Life is short, enjoy it.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

Happy. I feel very happy.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

It's really hard out there. Sad that talent doesn't automatically translate to success but such is life. I'd need a lot more space to write about needed improvements but for starters, it would be nice if people could rely on their music to make a living. I know, that's kind of broad but like I said, I have too many thoughts to share here.

What do you think of Drooble?

Again, not enough space to write but Drooble is AMAZING. I love connecting with like-minded people. The platform is well design and it's like a musical haven for me. Please keep this service going and please keep it free hahaha.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

Lack of support. I can post so many times, advertise a lot but I feel people say the like your stuff but aren't willing to pay for it.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

I definitely go out as much as I can to local artists' gigs and such and try to bring others with me.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

You definitely need to be somewhat technologically advanced so you can do a lot of advertising and promoting yourself online.

Share some awesome artists that we’ve never heard of.

T-Vice, Michael Brun, Shiwawa, DJ Superduke, Phyllisia Ross, Joe Dwet File
