What is music to you? What does it give you?

Singer / Songwriter Vinnie Valentino was born and raised in Reno, NV. And has been an entertainer and recording artist for over 30 years. The former frontman of a popular local rock band called twenty4seven, Vinnie Valentino has had his fair share of life challenges and has had to work through setbacks on this journey. The inspiration behind Solitary Heart is a paradox of two different types of loneliness. Solitary Heart captures the individuals' search for social acceptance and the quest for finding a complementary soulmate. With several years of in-activity in musical endeavors and being single, had ultimately left the singer lost and lonely. The song takes the listener on a journey to try to answer common questions of how some are lucky in love, while others are left behind. And what hope is there for the lonely to find love? Solitary Heart taps into mankind's quest for intimacy and emotions that we all struggle with. Upon completion of recording, mixing and mastering "Solitary Heart" at Imirage Sound Lab, music producer Tom Gordon suggested that Vinnie should release the single with a music video, to prevent the song from getting lost in the vast ocean of un-heard music. And referred him to Cameron Paris of Firebolt Media. And so Vinnie Valentino set out to embark on making his very first music video! From their first meeting onward Cameron had a vision for the song and suggested that we should go out on location to a remote stretch of highway known as {The Loneliest Road in America} HIGHWAY 50. And then began developing the idea of Vinnie walking along the long lonely highway, with no one to talk to, except for the billboards above. According to Mr. Valentino, "Making Solitary Heart (Official Music Video) has been one of the greatest adventures of my entire life, and is looking forward to filming more videos."

What is your music dream?

My dream is the same as most entertainers... To be a Rock Star! But even if I never reach that dream, I am a very happy and content person... This is what I do! regardless if I can pay my bills doing it. And I will be a Singer/Songwriter for the rest of my life...

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

If I could, I would want everyone to be positive, and to focus on the fine things in this world...

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

Oh boy! You mean I gotta choose only one? There are so many great songs that I was influenced by... But I was a total KISS fanatic when I was a child... And so I guess I'd have to say that "HARD LUCK WOMAN" is the one that stuck the most...

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

KISS, ELVIS, CHER, SIA, BON•JOVI, TOM JONES, LEONA LEWIS, ED SHEERAN, TIM MCGRAW, TAYLOR SWIFT, OLD DOMINION, FAITH HILL, RASCAL FLATTS, SHANIA TWAIN, KIETH URBAN, SKID ROW, BACKSTREET BOYS, LADY GAGA, ONE DIRECTION, ARROWSMITH, ETC... PLUS many more...

What inspires you to make music?

I'm a dreamer who believes that dreams can come true... As a child, music was my escape and my sanctuary! My best friend and a warm place! I am inspired by Artists who can harness their life experiences, capture time, love, loneliness, struggles, and heartbreak... And somehow project them all through the power of music...

What is the message you want to send with your music?

I hope to project my life experiences in a positive way. All of my life, I have relied on music to help get me through the challenges and difficulties that we all struggle with. My goal is that someone will hear my music, and know that they are not alone.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

I feel stage fright every time I step out on stage... What helps me the most, is that I know that it goes away, and transforms into the greatest rush imaginable! Still, it can be overwhelming at times, with an audience staring at me... One thing that I trust in with all my heart is the power of a smile! I feel that a genuine smile can melt even the coldest heart... Also, I never want to go out on stage unprepared! Having my material down gives me that boost of confidence that I need to put on a great performance!

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

I started playing music as a child... And from what I've seen, the business of being a musician hasn't changed much. The only way to do it is to just get out there, and do it! I have to admit that I'm very pleased with how the internet can help with exposure and distribution nowadays... I remember stapling our show flyers on every telephone pole I could find! ?

What do you think of Drooble?

I recently became a member of the Drooble community, and I am absolutely thrilled with the potential of this platform. For independent artists like me... This has been a long time coming. And I feel honored to be part of it.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

One thing that I pray for is that I'm going to be at full strength on Studio Day or Venue Day... When you've been performing as long as I have, you know that you don't always have the gift! Whether it's the weather, allergies, a cold, or even things like too much smoke in the air! The show must go on whether your up to it or not! For instance, I had a lingering sore throat, for my last studio session, and had to re-schedule half-way through! It was very frustrating... It wasn't the first time, and it won't be the last... But at least I know how to deal with it today.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Yes! I'm part of the Reno Music Project... The Reno Music Scene is a very tight nit group of Singers, Bands and Songwriters... Every other week we have "Open Mic Night" At the Market Place Downtown Reno, NV. Hosted by my long time friend Todd South...

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Above all, I believe that a Musician nowadays has to have perseverance and sticktoitiveness... Along with staying current with the sound that's popular. Stay in the now, and pursue greatness, as if it's within your reach!

Share some awesome artists that we’ve never heard of.

Right about now I'm wondering if this is a trick question. ?Because there is no way of knowing if Drooble has even heard of the upcoming artists that I know. The only one that I know for sure that you haven't heard of before is myself... Vinnie Valentino... But I would only refer to myself as an Artist. ?
