Don't like to talk about MYSELF. But IF I'm forced to say something Jack of all trades, maybe master of creating the groove bassline. :-)
Music is my life. IF I could afford it i would do music FOR FREE. Unfortunately with bills to pay, I can't.. That being said, I LIVE and BREATHE music.. It soothes my soul. I will do music until I die, and maybe even in the afterlife if found good enough to join the ranks of the Cherubim lol
To get back to doing music full time COMFORTABLY, with residuals coming in (songwriting credits, performance and mechanical royalties, etc.). Don't care about or want FAME. you can keep that. A successful BACKGROUND role would be perfect (making lets say $100k a year or MORE)..
Remove Poverty. Inequality, inhumane treatment and lack of respect of those who just happened to be born into a situation less than optimal without the ability to crawl out of circumstances because of the GREEDY non sympathetic powers that be..
Sun Goddess by Ramsey Lewis and Earth Wind&Fire Honorable mentions Funkentelechy by Parliament Funkadelic and Queen of my Soul - AWB
Anyone who generates organic HEAD Bobbin Toe Tapping joints ANY genre. Incognito, Parliament Funadelic, ThunderCat, Eminem, TuPac,
I am inspired by just about any life event. From the birth of my child, to being married, then divorced, to losing loved ones, to losing a job, to gaining a new job, to hearing a Bangin new beat (Youtube, Pandora, Spotify, etc.)
That you don't have to sound like everyone else or ANYONE else to make it, even though that's easier said than done.. TRULY original music is highly sought after. There already is ONE Eminem, one Joyner Lucas, 1 TechN9ne, etc. recording entities aren't looking for someone who sounds JUST LIKE them, WHY when they already have THEM.. Think about it.....
Most of the time, it's exhilarating..
The reality is that TRUE musicianship has taken a back seat to the cheap equipment and ego driven mentality of people today. Any fool with a DAW, a beat-box, sampler or computer now think they've written the best thing since sliced bread when in reality it's elementary school beats/lyrics/talent. And of course the Corporate Entities that be, FORCE feed that stuff to the masses so THEY can take advantage of it. It's being improved by outlets such as YouTube, Pandora,, etc. where independent musicians CAN be heard, though it's small money. A&R's (which might be extinct now) should now look to services like this and TUNECORE , SoundCloud, AudioMack and Youtube to take chances on folks like myself..
so far so good
Lack of musicianship because of cheap equipment, Elementary school talent that think they are doctorates lack of Corporate attention to real musicians
I get out and support all my performing friends and they support me. I purchase all their MP3's and merchandise as they do me..
Drive, desire, persistence, curiosity, ability to learn, and desire to get the finances to a point to physically release rather than just MP3/MP4 online stuff.
