Thorben Busch Music

I'm a singer-songwriter who also loves to cover my favourite songs. I love the analog and handmade style of the 70's and you can see more on

What is music to you? What does it give you?

I have always been listening to music and started going to a music school aged 5. Music is my companion in every moment of life, letting me celebrate in good moods and giving me crutch in bad moods. Besides drinking, eating and sleeping I couldn't live without music

What is your music dream?

My dream is to play in front of tens of thousands of people who are singing along and enjoying life to my songs.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

I would try to bring freedom, understanding and love to everyone.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

Whatever You Want by Status Quo

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Status Quo Pink Floyd Queen The Beatles Oasis

What inspires you to make music?

Expressing emotions, stating messages, enjoy listening

What is the message you want to send with your music?

Be yourself, be honest, "the 70's-music is good"

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

Blessed sharing my emotions and expressions with other people, my mind is kinda in another world.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

They need more support from every side and people should start taking time again to listen to and appreciate songs.

What do you think of Drooble?

It's a great and supportive community who takes time to listen to your songs and give feedback of any kind : )

What frustrates you most as a musician?

Most of the people seem to just listen to mainstream music that seems to have no "soul" anymore, all just computers and no instruments and too much autotune and stuff... they also don't take time to listen to a full song and appreciate it anymore...

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

There are some local bands I follow on Facebook and so for instance. Sometimes I watch them live.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

First of all: luck... unfortunately... ironically. Their look and lifestyle also often outweigh talent and musical substance...

Share some awesome artists that we’ve never heard of.

I'm sure you know them anyway but Steve Rothery (Marillion) and Rick Parfitt (Status Quo) are very underrated guitarists for example. It's also a pity that Status Quo never got popular in America...
