Terry Saunders

Story

Currently I'm a retired musician, I do not do gigs anymore I've been there and done that and now just want to settle down and relax. I compose various genre's from Country to Symphonic rock, I do not compose and never will compose or record EDM, Hip-Hop, (c)rap, or any of the supposed noise they call the music of today. I compose, play and record my music from home, and being that I'm not a lyricist or singer, a lot of the time I upload my tunes to collaboration platforms to give others a chance to add their talents to music. I used to play for money, but now I just compose and play for fun and to give others the joy of hearing my music.

What is music to you? What does it give you?

I've been a musician, and audition judge for over 30 years, and now I've retired and just compose music. My (late) father was a concert pianist, and hence I followed, even though my primary instrument is the keys, I taught myself most forms of guitar when I was 15, ranging from electric rhythm, bass and pedal steel, unfortunately I can't play drums.

What is your music dream?

To make people happy by listening to the music I compose.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

Total and absolute nuclear disarmament, and total peace, where everyone lives as one, and get rid of bigotry, the want for power, selfishness, greed, poverty, and disease.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

In the year 2525 by Zager and Evans.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Status Quo Nightwish Edenbridge Xandria Within Temptation Sirenia

What inspires you to make music?

Hard rock music and Gothic Symphonic.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

nothing

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

Absolutely fantastic.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

Apart from some EDM, the rest they call "music" IE, hiphop, (c)rap, and whatever noise they call music today, is crap, decent music is hard to find, music where lyrics don't have F this and MF that in every second word, and where vocals can be clearly understood, and not 10,000 words a second, where rhythm has a beat and NOT by over use of gated reverb.

What do you think of Drooble?

Don't know yet as I haven't looked around the site enough yet to comment.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

At times a total lack of inspiration, AND when I hear singers use pitch correction like Autotune, in my opinion, if a singer has to use pitch correction, then they can't sing PERIOD!

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

nope

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Decent music, being able to sing and or play a real instrument, not one of those 'samplers' that anyone can use.

Share some awesome artists that we’ve never heard of.

Can't think of any, because you've probably heard of them all.
