Steve Bradley

Steve Bradley.

Joined this group to help promote our band The Usual Suspects, and more recently, The Private Dicks Band. We also gig as an acoustic alternative, The Lounge Lizards. We have our own studio, Smokey Room where we produce our own music and anybody who wants to record there, we also produce videos, which are on youtube, I'll post them on Drooble as well. I have done some online collaboration over the past couple of years and it can work well, so if anybody is interested in collaborating on a recording project please get in touch. Cheers.

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Past present and future, a wonderful worldwide legacy of music from the past, a huge selection of genres from the present day, as for the future, who knows? I'd like to play a small part in it for as long as I can. Music to me a vibration encompassing the whole Universe, it's fundamental.

What is your music dream?

To have some success however small with a song that our band has created.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

Equality, but many have tried and as far as I can see it's still very much a work in progress.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

Diana by Paul Anka. Then into my early teens it all exploded with the Beatles, Stone, Kinks, Beach Boys etc...up until the present day.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Beatles, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix. Steely Dan, Jeff Beck, Stones, Muse, Zero 7, the list is almost endless.....

What inspires you to make music?

Anything and everything, my Grandkids, events, moods, feeling of happiness or sadness, hopefully mainly happiness, people and places.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

Listen to this, you might like it!

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

I love it these days, but as a naturally introverted person it has been nervy at times depending on the gig. As you get older you have to come out of your shell and not be a wallflower, these days nothing fazes me and hopefully I come across as confident.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

Complicated, you have to be a bit of a multi tasker, musician, recording engineer, producer, communicator, the internet has changed everything.

What do you think of Drooble?

Yes I like it, the Karma points idea is very good, it's takes away the commercial aspect and lets you concentrate on the music, I like the community feel too. It's great to be in touch with like minded people from across the world, regardless of musical genres, it all counts.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

My limitations, but then we all have them, learn to use what talents you have to the very best of your ability.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Hopefully, we get out to see other bands and performers as much as possible, and our Smokey Room studio is available to others for mulitrack recording or video production at a very reasonable rate.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

The ability to produce something interesting and memorable, musically coherent, artistically relevant, ahem, not easy.

Share some awesome artists that we’ve never heard of.

I'll have to come back to this one.
