Sixto Melendez

I've been playing guitar since I was a kid. I had a band before any of us actually knew how to play an instrument. Me and two friends in middle school just said we're making a band and then we all begged our parents for instruments and set about learning how to play. I chose the guitar. Over the next couple decades I went from an original metal band in the late 80's and 90's to a cover band in the 00's all this in sunny South FL. It's been more than a decade since i played with other musicians and I'm looking forward to doing it again. In the meantime I record cover songs for my YouTube project "Six & the Band of One" which is just me recording covers by myself. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music is the language of the universe. Quantum physics tells us that broken down to it's most basic form, everything is reduced to vibrations popping in and out of existence. By this logic music which is organized vibratory sound waves, is the fabric of reality. This explains why something that you cannot see or touch is powerful enough to bring you to tears.

What is your music dream?

There was a time when no less than rock stardom would do. Today just to be able to play with a fun cover band again. Maybe write a song or two that people dig.
