When Seeking Tragedy was created in 2018, we only had one goal, which was to create music that we were both passionate about. We didn’t worry about genres or fitting the mainstream. We really just wanted to take full advantage of everything metal can potentially be. Our music isn’t afraid to be both violent and catchy. The lyrics don’t shy away from heavy subjects, such as recent shootings or divisive nature of politics. In our songs we capture the beauty of our shared suffering in this human experience. We all have a story to tell, and music connects our shared experiences. When we first started the band, we hit a few road blocks. At times we struggled to find others who share our passion and boundless perspective on what music can be, and were left questioning if there was an audiences for us. In late 2018 our risks started to pay off, as we were picked up by a manager (Kat Wolf) who has helped with getting our music out in to the public and booking some shows. The response to our songs have been overwhelmingly positive, which has reignited our drive and excitement to share all of our upcoming projects. We began building a local fan base, and we have also built our own confidence as artists. Our first single ‘Slowburn’ was released April 12th, 2019 to all streaming platforms. Additionally, we have been busy booking shows throughout Salt Lake and Utah County, so come check us out sometime.
