Story

Riccardo Petri is an Italian singer-songwriter, born in Vigevano on 27 September 1999. His musical career began in 2016 with the publication of several covers of famous songs on Instagram and Youtube, winning great acclaim. Once affirmed, and having understood in which genre it is reflected, after graduating in Computer Engineering, he began to publish his singles, first of these, "it’s a question of when". The genre of his music ranges from Pop to Folk, to Indie and Alternative, with multiple influences such as David Bowie and The Beatles, and the contemporary scene such as Harry Styles and Ed Sheeran.

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music for me is my best friend, who accompanies me on my journey every day, who is close to me in dark moments and in moments with light, one of the few entities that I know will always be there and on which I can always rely.

What is your music dream?

My music dream is just sharing my art, with the aim of creating emotions and good feeling for as many people as possible.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

I would start with the little things, helping every day the next and of course also with the music.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

The song that made me feel alive and happy when new adventures started was Happily, by One Direction.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

At this moment the contemporary artists I feel close to me are Donovan Woods, Harry Styles and Ed Sheeran.

What inspires you to make music?

I am inspired by daily events, and thoughts of past events present or future.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

We are not alone, there will always be someone to help us; we are strong, we are always able to get up; time heals every wound, and help will always be given to those who deserve it.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

I’ve never performed in front of an audience.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

I would improve the quality of the hours of music in class and also with channels on television, talking about non contemporary artists and individual musical genres in detail as general culture.

What do you think of Drooble?

It is a great site to share music and discover new artists.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

The fact that many people do not know the breadth of musical genres.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Of course, I try to make friends and share the music of those I know and those I think deserve to be heard more, like Donovan Woods himself.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

I think it should convey important messages, excite and have quality music.
