Patrick Herlehy

Story

I was born and raised in Chicago at a time that the local clubs heralded the likes of George Benson, Dexter Gordon, Muddy waters, Howlin Wolf and Eddie Clearwater, sitting in regularly at the Buddy Guy's Checkerboard Lounge. I was able to absorb the blues and actually played with Muddy. In the early 80's I moved to NYC and became a session musician, playing on a myriad of tracks including movie sound tracks and jingles. In the late 80's I moved to NH and became Mighty Sam McClains band leader touring the world for 15 years. I co-produced and co-wrote Sam's last 5 CD projects, garnering several nominations from the Memphis based Blues Foundation. Today I continue to write and record local artists at my PatCave Studios in Manchester, NH. and tour and record with Luther Guitar Jr. Johnson.

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music is the absolute cure-all in my opinion. From the moment at five years old and listening to a HS marching band play John Phillip Souza's Star Spangled Banner I knew it was gonna be music for me for the rest of my life. Music heals, cures and uplifts. Without it I am sure I would not be here right now. I need it to live and consider myself quite fortunate to be able to share this passion!
