What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music is many things for me. Inspiration, calmness, excitement and even prayer are among the things that music holds when I listen. Music allows me to express what lies in my heart and dwells upon my mind.

What is your music dream?

That through the music of man, everyone will learn to hear the music that surrounds and fills us. The natural music that is best heard in silence.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

Perhaps eliminating greed and envy as those two seem to drive the abuses of mankind.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

Cement Mixer and Shaving Cream

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Too many to list but I will try. Been a Floyd fan since 69. Fell in love with the classics of Beethoven, Bach, Brahms as a child. The late, great, Stevie Ray Vaughn. Louis Armstrong. Miles Davis. I’ll add more later.

What inspires you to make music?

Many things. Perhaps simple feeling is the most inspiring.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

We are all the same under the skin.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

Connected.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

I do not make and never have made my living from music. I’ve had many gigs but always had the proverbial day time job to pay the bills. This, I don’t believe I’m qualified to answer the question.

What do you think of Drooble?

So far, I like it.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

Being told all the sound gear is onsite then arriving and finding it’s not.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

I attend certain events and venues where I know local musicians are playing. I’ve also provided free recording services to some in order to get their demo release.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Trends and tastes change over time. It’s hard to say what a musician should do to get their sound out to larger audiences. My only advice, be honest.

Share some awesome artists that we’ve never heard of.

Dave and Vicky Trezak, Candlefer, Sybille Hummingbird
