Ma9Na

Story

From humble beginnings in a small city in New Zealand, a musical life began as a guitarist then at 13 a simple visit to a music shop to return a broken amplifier resulted in a drum kit returning home with him. Sneaking into venues to watch bands setup and soundcheck lead to a chance meeting with a visiting band that took interest in him with an invitation to play a song on the drums with them. He was invited to watch the gig that night from the safety of side of stage due to being underage. During their set he was pulled on stage and placed behind the kit playing his first live gig. His first band were in the audience and so began a journey that took him to eventually full-time touring of New Zealand and Australia. Hobart became his home in 1981 and for nearly 2 decades was a member of several successful bands which included recording and touring band Reckless Hearts from 1993 to 1996. Fast forward to 2020 and creating Ma9Na as his artist’s name he began writing, recording and releasing his own songs featuring local, national and international musicians to support his own multi-instrument abilities. As 2024 dawns Ma9Na's home studio is going back together with new pieces of tech and equipment. His garage is setup for 3 music videos featuring DYI lights, props. A new Yamaha drum kit is ordered and will be an eager return to how things were. The Roland electronics will still have a place in the setup as FX and his own drum samples. New guitars and a a custom bass rounfd that side of it off. A new song is due out Jan/Feb. It is currently in the UK getting final strings and mastering. Lets Rock
