Lucky Love

Story

Starting from the young age of 5, Lucky discovered his love for music through the simplicity of Disney movies. The way the emotion can be translated to another through the notes of your voice or instrument drew him to love it to this very day. After high school, Lucky threw himself at the creativity chasing school and music. Staring as a cast member in a professional production of Sweeney Todd with the Harper Theater Ensemble he met a group known as The Future Kingz. After seeing the passion it ignited Lucky to start pursuing his dream. A few years later and a true love later he has a family and a passion. Bringing a diverse look into music as a forefront into the 21st century, Lucky aims to delivery quality music with emotional transfers and true story telling. The world is truly going to live life along with Lucky!

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music gives me a release. I can dive into my own creative world and choose which melodic tone or vibe is the right feeling in that moment, time, or place; Reaching into the musical soul and trying to find myself while helping others find different meanings to different situations is just something I can't even explain how much music gives me.

What is your music dream?

My dream is to become financially free through music to provide mainly for my daughter and then find out our nation's top priorities in our communities first at home and then we will see where life can take a man with a pure heart and God to guide him in his way!

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

I would start with my family and my community. The wisest words I have ever heard were that Knowledge is Power! If I can help my family and my community become informed, we can grow and prosper to branch into other needing communities. When I say need, I do not always mean financially. Sometimes there are communities that need a positive and outgoing spirit in their life to broaden their horizon. If music is truly my passion, then I must be aware of the effect it has on mood and inventiveness even with people who are not an artist. If that is true, then who is to say me or my community couldn't create something to inspire the influence behind the next greatest addition to mankind's most needed things such as new medicine or ideas for national hunger distribution help.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

The most memorable song from my childhood would be The Voice by the Celtic Women. It changed how I saw music because I never heard Scottish music turned mainstream and watching with my parents and hearing the pure sounds of true musicianship was just incredible! Who knew almost 20 years later I would be pursuing music because of its beauty displayed. It was either Celtic Women or the countless Disney tunes that made me realize music can really help in more ways than people could ever imagine if they non chalantly look at music as just a time passer.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

My favorite musical artist or bands by far have to be John Legend due to his incredible tone quality and projection while closely followed by John Mayer who I don't know as a person and I don't always hear the best news about him but man oh mother f***ing man can that guy sing and play guitar. Live performances by him are how I aspire to grasp the audience when I perform authentic music I have made for my listeners!

What inspires you to make music?

What inspires me to make music is my love for the sound of the rhythm of the vibe of the music and the ride and the homies and girls on the side. No seriously though I do it for that but mainly for the pursuit to show my daughter she can do or be anything she wants to be in this world. Nothing can hold her back and to be true to her passions because if I am not true to mine than who am I to tell her to do anything because I didn't let myself create or live my passion!

What is the message you want to send with your music?

The message I want to send is that through thick and thin you can prevail. Just buckle down and chase something you are good at and makes you happy whether the next relationship or the job interview, the best restaurant date or the model airplane you are about to finish, the photo that turned out just right or the card tower you and pops have been working on for hours, do it to the fullest because we only live once and if we are not living for our best and to the glory of God than what are we doing in this life! Each and every life is unique so if you are you then scream it to the world because our lights should shine bright wherever we are and be that community wherever we go because doing so will ensure we have lived our lives well!

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

I feel alive and nervous and comfortable all at the same time. I think that can be a thing right?

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

I see the musician's reality as however much they want to put effort into their career or my career or whoever we are talking about, that is how well the response will be in each situation they encounter in the industries they chase after trying to "make it"! No lie!

What do you think of Drooble?

I think it is an incredibly useful tool for artists like myself who don't have major labels behind them and want to show the audiences of the same caliber their music but need the professional-looking edge to get the attention of the audience in the first place.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

What frustrates me most is that the Cororo virus has got all of us performers doing hard work in the studio or bedroom and want to show our creative material to the world in person but shoot I guess in due time!

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

I support all artist that have legitimate potential to grow as an artist and a good message to them as a human. I will always represent Chicago but I welcome all regions of creativity to grow myself in the world of music.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

The only real qualities you need to grow your audience are authenticity, quality music, and the mind of a networker. Eskedit!!!!!!!!
