For me music is about expression. Some people like to talk about their problems or emotions, but to me that kind of feels like I'm dumping my crap on someone else.I find picking up a guitar and letting my fingers do the talking helps me release negativity and clear my mind, body and soul.
My dream job as a musician would be as a sideman for a superstar singer. I'd love nothing better than to write the songs and stand just out of the limelight as we tour the world playing our music. I don't enjoy being the centre of attention but I do love being part of a great band of Musicians
Me
Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple. I found a poster with all the lyrics on it in the album sleeve the day I discovered the song - it hung aboveabove my bed for years.
It changes all the time but for the last few years now I've been focussing a lot on Ritchie Kotzen, Philip Sayce and Matt Schofield. I do love lots of different music too but I keep coming back to these guys
Riding my motorbike, the feeling of freedom is similar to the feeling I hit when I play
I am always striving to be better than I was yesterday, I guess my message woukd be "Just keep going, one step at a time and you will eventually get where you need to be" We are all just a work in progress after all!
I draw energy from the audience, so an audience that is investing their time, attention and energy in me can send me soaring. There is no better feeling than playing your own music to an audience and seeing them move to the music and enjoy it!
