POLITIK is a female-led indie trio based in London, UK. Their sound is best described as alternative ethereal rock, drawing on influences such as Florence + The Machine, The XX and London Grammar. After graduating from their music studies, the trio ventured overseas with their band, honing their craft while travelling the coasts of Europe, Australia, Asia, the South Pacific, the Caribbean, and the American east coast. After two years abroad, the band returned to South Africa with an arsenal of songs and travel experiences to record their debut album in August 2016. Tell Me The Answer, the bands debut album was released in April 2017. Politik delivers an explosive live show while delivering their brand of melodic hooks coupled with emotive lyrical content that addresses issues that are universal, with a refreshing sincerity. Notable tracks like 'Rage On' talk of overcoming loss and fighting for love, 'White Horses' is a heart-wrenching tale of suicide, 'I Can't Stay' explores the turmoil of divorce, while 'Lay Low' oozes political swagger.

One of the most frustrating things is trying to get people to notice the art in what you are doing. Music is art and the artwork that goes along with albums is just as important, as it's what people associate aesthetically with the band's brand.
Yes, we attend regular gigs and a really helpful way of supporting artists is paying for hard-copies of the artists albums. So much love, sweat & tears go into making this form of art and many hours have been spent over the records artwork etc and a way to show real support to the artist is to pay for that art so that they can make a living and continue doing what they love.
