Koné (22) is an artist, producer & musician from Belgium intrigued by the vast world of sounds and traditional instruments. Through the study with masters of musical traditions and native percussion from all over the world, Koné continually expands his vocabulary as an allround musician. Through this ongoing learning process, he is making his first solo repertoire without borders by blending modern pop with different musical influences. Koné is set on surprising his audience with new sounds, such as his beloved handpans, and inspiring them to see the world and themselves in new ways.

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music is my passion & drive. But what describes best what it is for me: it's my home, it's a way of being connected with the universe, just like in meditation. It's a place where I feel connected to the whole world and that brings intense happiness.

What is your music dream?

I want to help people find this calm place of connection to the universe ( read it how it gets described best for you : higher self / universe / God / Quantum field / ... ) and I want to do this with my music. I want to reach millions of people everyday with my songs & play weekly in big venues all around the globe spreading more high vibes all around.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

You can change the world, start with yourself and your view of the world and expand it outwards. "I'm starting with the man in the mirror I'm asking him to change his ways And no message could've been any clearer If they wanna make the world a better place Take a look at yourself and then make a change"

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

Red Hot CHili Peppers - Dani California --> one of the first songs I studied on drums!

What inspires you to make music?

The world around me.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

High vibes, positive messages: you can change the world around you & ypur happiness just by changing your inner world.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

Bliss, pure happiness, playfullness and high vibration. I feel connected with the band, the listeners & everything around!

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

Less competition & more working togethere and spreading high vibrations!

What do you think of Drooble?

Looks great, not sure yet of all it's functionalities but hopefully everything will work fine!

What frustrates you most as a musician?

In music nothing is frustrating!

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Yes, going to jams, gigs,.. every week. I have my own recording studio where local talent can come jam & record.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?
