KIMMERLY

Story

KIMMERLY (born Carson Ruby Kimmerly) began seriously delving into music when she joined her middle school orchestra on the violin as a sixth grader. By the time she was in eighth grade she was performing at a professional level, winning both solo and ensemble awards at local competitions with classical orchestral pieces such as “Hoedown” and “The Dargason”. She began trying her hand at writing and producing her own contemporary music at the age of 15. After going through at least a dozen failed stage name attempts, she settled on the stage name KIMMERLY and started to develop her brand. Using her classical training as an orchestral violinist and her extensive knowledge in art history, her songs are uniquely characterized by their inspirations - fine visual arts and music. Despite her assorted influences, KIMMERLY states, “While I am sometimes an artist, and sometimes a poet, I am above all a musician”. After her start on the violin, she went on to teach herself the guitar after receiving an acoustic Fender as a gift and the piano after finding one abandoned at the end of her street. Kimmerly now does the composing, lyric writing, acoustic instrumental and vocal performances, and producing for all of her own tracks. Her official debut single “Waterlily” (Released June 24th, 2022) features all of her instruments and inspirations from notable works of Impressionism; namely Monet’s “Water Lilies” series and Degas’ works of the Paris Opera ballerinas.
