A native of the Missouri Ozarks, Kevin Wilson has been visualizing his musical concept since his youth. Influenced by the Blues, the British Invasion, County, Folk, Blue Grass, and Classic Rock, Kevin crosses multiple genres to deeply touch him and hopefully others. He attempts to tell important stories of God, his country, loved ones, and friends; leaving himself to write or play just one more song that might quench his thirst and craving to create timeless music. He performs no cover songs as all of his material is originally arranged and composed by the artist himself. He plays the following instruments for all of his music: rhythm/lead guitar, lap steel guitar, vocals, bass, mandolin, banjo, and harmonica.
Music is spiritual food! It inspires, strengthens, and heals the soul. It's my therapy and my obsession!
For others to enjoy and listen to my music.
Stop the hating!
Rocket Man by Elton John.
Too many to list, but here are a few: Robin Trower, Hendrix, Clapton, J. Geils, Marshall Tucker Band, Skynyrd, The Eagles, Frampton, BB King, John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Bobby Blue Bland, Zeppelin, Page, etc, etc, etc!
The complexity, diversity, the nuances. It's the magic and endless possibilities. The studio is my sanctuary and muse!
Comfort, relief, and inspiration.
Depends on the venue but often relieved that the music is flowing out of me. Like a safety valve ready to explode. Perhaps, a desperation that people are enjoying my work.
A rediscovery and emphasis on the joy of music. When I was young, music was the ultimate source of entertainment. Now, it competes with endless sources of entertainment and I feel fewer people care about music today. Music needs to somehow re-emerge and retake its thrown in the entertainment front.
So far, I like what I see.
Chasing my sound.
Yes! Encourage and help serious musicians to get heard and recorded.
Faith and persistence.
How about Earl Grant? Toughest question yet! So many possibilities!
