Kelly Walshe

Story

Kelly Walshe is a Western Sydney born acoustic singer songwriter. Evolving and expanding from the 5 piece folk rock band 'Mother's Own', she has flourished into an authentic, acoustic solo artist. Kelly writes, records and performs both originals and covers across the boisterous city of Sydney. After a painfully extended hiatus from music altogether, Kelly has returned to the recording studio and stage with original compositions supporting the claims and comments of her incredibly rock solid rhythmic skills as a guitarist and multi-instrumentalist. She seamlessly switches up the swing within a piece of music creating a sense of difference and welcomed oddity. On stage, she currently performs with a stellar and powerful voice, not afraid to sing out and beyond from deep within. Listening to the incredulous range of covers she performs in her individual style allows you to be transported to a place of both familiarity and delectation. Kelly's original compositions are cemented with sturdy, rhythmic structures and sweet, unexpected melodic delicacies. She purposefully plays each instrument featured on any given recording, creating and carefully placing guitar licks, piano melodies and additional vocal harmonies.

What is music to you? What does it give you?

"I've got to be completely and utterly me. The best and most truthful way I can achieve that is through music, design and creativity. Knowing I'm being and giving everything that makes myself me is all I ever want to do, and I'm grateful to be given the opportunity to do that"
