Hailing from Memphis, TN, Music Producer KadencePAT (Patrick Brooks) embodies the grit and soul of his hometown. Fusing Hip-Hop drums (808s), the smooth melodies of Soul and R&B, along with vocal chops and sound manipulation, KadencePat contrast the dynamic sounds between hard and smooth. With releases from a handful of up and coming and emerging artists in 2019, Kadence Pat is actively working on his next projects and string of releases. 2019 Releases include L.U.V. (2019). KadencePAT was the 2018-2019 Program Director for Creatives Day, a non-profit, Nashville-based organization that connects resources and opportunities to their local artist community, where he recruited musician residents and oversaw the music production, and secured 2 of his 2019 releases with 2 of the program's residents. "This was a great time for me as a producer, working with so many different types of artists and helping create different sounds and vibes for each artist." As a former Percussion Section Leader in The Aristocrats of Bands of Tennessee State University, Kadence honed his drumming skills and began producing tracks. During that time, he managed a band, and met an artist that he works extensively with today, L.U.V. They have been developing their sound for years and are now ready to share that sound with the world. "2020 will be a year of more releases with dope artists. I enjoy collaborating and giving artists a vibe they can tell their story to. And I will be releasing an EP titled “UFO” featuring some of the new artists I work with."

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music is my purpose in life. It is the I speak to the world. Music gives me peace when my life is troubled. It reminds me that God loves me through it all.

What is your music dream?

My music dream is to have my own production company and employed by record labels to create a sound for their new artist.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

If I could change the world I would try to end by first trying to end homelessness in every city by setting up some type of free housing for the poor through the city. This program would be available to them with assistance of finding them steady income.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

The most memorable song from my childhood is Boyz II Men " It's so hard to say Goodbye". This song was played or song at many different life events. Every time I hear this song it reminds me of those moments.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Chris Brown, Usher, H.E.R., Luther Vandross, Whitney Houston, Temptations, Maroon 5

What inspires you to make music?

I am inspired by different things movies, tv shows, music, and just life period. More than anything I am inspired by a lot of different emotions and I put those emotions in my music.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

The message I want to send with my music is that anything is possible. I want my music to assist different artists in sharing their personal messages to the world.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

I only perform in the studio when I create music in the studio. I perform by creating my world in the studio and inviting the artist create their interpretation of world they live in.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

A musicians' reality currently is hard especially in Nashville for urban creatives. I only can speak of my current setting but I feel that the urban music community should be assisted more through opportunities in Nashville. Right now most urban creatives are forced to work outside of Nashville in order to attempt to build a life doing music full time.

What do you think of Drooble?

I think Drooble is a great platform for aspiring artists to meet other artist and also create a platform to share with potential fans

What frustrates you most as a musician?

I only get frustrated when I am not treated fairly or given the credit for things that I have done.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

I support my local scene as a fan by promoting artist in the city and bringing opportunities to the artist that deserve them.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

In order for a musician to be heard by a larger audience they must have patience, ambition, faith, discipline, and dedication.
