It seems to be part of my life.
To create a music atmosphere to share the songs with the audience.
You can change the world.. through prayer..
Down By the Lazy River (Osmond version) started me into music when I was little.
Favorite: Classical, For non-classical: B52s, REM, Depeche Mode, ABBA
The creative aspect is bizarre. My songwriting comes from "left field". If I have the time, I can pursue it. If I have responsibilities in the way, the creativity is gone. Some of my songs come from beauty, human behavior, faith, etc.
Depends on the song. Each song has a different message.
Nervous. No matter how small or big, I get nervous. I don't like when I miss a "lick" or "chop" or "note".. most audiences don't know but I know.
For the most part, the music industry is aweful. Thankfully, we have the internet to access songs that are not being prepackaged and pushed by the labels.. New music is much more accessible. Unfortunately, there is a plethora of music you have to filter through to find a great song. What is missing is the old circuits of clubs/facilities/music houses where a band could play in a series of clubs. Many of these said clubs are gone.
good platform for exposure
The new audiences seem to lack taste, meaning, they will listen over and over again to what is on the radio station they choose. Often it is the packaged stuff coming from the music labels. They think all music is great. No taste. no discernment.
Not really. I do go to open mics from time to time.
MONEY MONEY MONEY.. then talent (unfortunately).. production of songs should be pretty good. So much talent out there not going anywhere and they don't need an autotuner.
? How am I to know what you have heard of and not heard of?. I will mention an obscure artist who is a step from making it real big, but not quite there yet.. Rachel Thomasin.
