Jerry Guthrie

Story

Jerry hopes to revive interest in Instrumental Music. He feels mainstream music has become too dependent on lyrics, catchy tunes, and “sick beats” and is missing the raw energy of musical expression solely through instrumentation. Born during the golden age of popular instrumental music, Jerry had a love for instrumentals from a very early age. He grew up listening to legendary instrumentals from Dick Dale, the Ventures, Duane Eddy, The Surfaris, Roy Clark, Mason Williams, Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass, Paul Marriot, and many more. Later in years, he would be inspired by hard rock instrumentals from Emerson, Lake, and Palmer, Yes, Pink Floyd, and most notably from his favorite band and lifelong influence, Rush. His goal is to create a musical representation of everyday life as well as life’s emotional ups and downs and highs and lows. To be the soundtrack of your life. “To speak without words, must come from the heart, To listen without words must come from the soul.”
