What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music has always been an outlet for me, through good times and bad times. I continued to write even though I didn’t think my songs would see the light of day. Music is just one impactful avenue and I am more than obliged to utilize it to plant seeds of hope into peoples lives. When I wrote this song PANARAMIC, I just came out of a very dark place in my life, but I finally found a change in perspective that alleviated my angst of where I thought I should already be in my life and learned to be content and take it one day at a time, embracing my life, praising my own achievements and looking at failures as lessons and doors that lead me to better opportunities.

What is your music dream?

Ok, don’t laugh, but my dream music is Rock! I have this deep love for rock that is unexplainable. I’ve always loved the way that it makes me feel: intense and powerful. I literally pretends that I’m in a music video eveytime I would play a band and head bang with my natural c4 hair in the mirror with a brush substituted for a mic in my hand as a young girl and truthfully I haven’t grown out of that. But yeah that’s my dream music

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

If I could change the world, I would start with people’s perspective. That’s where everyone’s experience is filtered through. It doesn’t matter who did what to you or how you grew up rich or poor, if a person’s perspective is negative then it will always lead to an unsatisfactory life, but if a person has a positive perspective of oneself, others around them no matter what race or creed and a positive perspective of their current situation there’s nothing you can’t overcome. And that’s what I am doing with my music changing perspectives.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

I have so many memorable songs form my childhood and they are from all different genres! I would say: “I’m so sick” by Flyleaf, only because it was truly a turning point in my love for rock music and essential to my influences in my music today.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Flyleaf, Paramore, Red,

What inspires you to make music?

I get inspired to create music when I listen to beats or if I am playing around on guitar. Or I compose a song from just ideas or thoughts. This process has so many different avenues and I never know which way it’ll come and that’s the exciting part.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

With every song I create I want people to hear the message of faith and managing through life with a positive perspective.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

I feel like I am right where I belong when I perform in front of an audience. It’s a different kind of feeling and it’s more of a privilege and responsibility to make sure that they are comfortable and enjoying what you are singing about. It’s immediate feedback from what you put your heart into. It’s an experience that creates a high in its own right.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

I don’t really know how to answer this question. I guess the musician’s reality is fun, they’re doing what they love so it’s attractive.

What do you think of Drooble?

It’s very thorough with its artist interview. I did like this set up and it’s very simple and easy to use.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

The business end for sure. It’s a learning experience and there is a lot to do. It’s not frustrating but a better choice of words would be its very tedious. When you are a creator you want to focus less on business and more on creating.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Yes, I repost local artist to my story I purchase their music and go to their concerts as well it helps in so many ways.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Perseverance, it’s not easy and it takes time especially the business side to make sure that you have everything running smoothly.
