HalfBlood

Story

Born in 1998, I come from a small French-Canadian town of 3000-4000 people called Normandin. Grew up listening to Heavy Metal and songs from Quebec artists, then discover hiphop in French at 10 y/o. I then started to spit in this language for a year but stopped suddenly. At 15, I learned STFU by Kid Ink to spit with my friend when we were smoking weed. I found passion. One month later, I knew 3 songs, then I learned Rap God. First time I rapped on a beat alone was to cover Sail from MGK. I remember this moment perfectly. From there I started to write one song in English (wich took me 2-3 months), and it never stopped. In summer 2017, after a whole year listening to Lord Esperanza, I finaly opened my mind enough to tell myself "French rap can aslo sound great". Since then, I compose in both languages, posted on Soundcloud and Youtube, did about 10 shows mostly unpaid. SO HERE WE ARE LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN NOW !

Music is art, it is how I share the best and evolve the most.

What is your music dream?

I want to help people who feel like I do but don't have the tools to express their feelings. I wanna let everybody that all that matters is love and we're all together in the end. XX

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

Let everybody on the globe eat 5 grams of dried psilocybe cubensis at the same moment. Nah for real, I'd eradicate war, share more ressources and focus on keeping nature alive.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

Tough one, quickly I'd say Thunderstruck from AC/DC or The Day That Never Comes from Metallica (a bit later).

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

MGK. But I truly appreciate almost everything that is not pop or country.

What inspires you to make music?

Celestal waves? Ahah Idk, it is the love for it I guess.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

Share, evolve, you're not alone, we can make it, I egotrip to let y'all know self confidence is important and make art with words (poesy).

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

ALIVE AF.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

I think the industry is wayy too big, artists should be able to run their own businesses and all that.

What do you think of Drooble?

It is truly amazing discovering many underground artists ! Community is well organized, I mean people only care about sharing music and helping each other out here and it shows.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

Being unable to have a good reach since I'm from a 3000 ppl town where no big contacts can be ade or anything. But it is my duty to move and do what I need to make it happen .

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Hell yeah, I promote their music, participate in events, contact promoters trynna convince them we can do something without inviting ppl from far, away who ask too much money, etc

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

If I knew I would have more views ? ahahah
