What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music is my passion and oxygen. I couldn’t live without it and I don’t listen to the jealous haters. Music has so much healing and should be there for everyone.

What is your music dream?

Becoming a famous pop singer, but I would also like to do opera, continue my musical history gigs, and to be a music therapist. We all strive to make a reasonable living making music, that is the goal. If I can support myself financially while sharing the healing and beauty of music with the world I would be happy.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

It sounds cliche but feeding the children, saving all children from childhoods that result in PTSD, end all the religious wars, and student loan debt.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

“Once Upon a Dream” - Sleeping Beauty “I Will Always Love You” - Whitney Houston

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

W.A. Mozart, Christina Aguilera, Katy Perry, Demi Lovato, Ella Fitzgerald, and so much more!

What inspires you to make music?

The soulfulness and passion of the voice expressing, love, beauty and pain much like how the spirituals do. There is a tremendous amount of healing and being your true self and expression through singing.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

That music is for everyone just like it was in the old tribal days filled with dancing and festivities. No one should ever judge or tell someone they can’t sing, it’s not for the elite few...

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

Sometimes nervous with the first phrase but I come alive and I am very animated and so does the audience in our connection through song. I also love to connect with sing-a-longs with people.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

Again, I think music shouldn’t be treated as for the elite few and jealous people shouldn’t ruin it for the rest of us. I would say just keep trying and don’t listen to them.

What do you think of Drooble?

I am new to it but I like the social media network for musicians. I hope to network and grow more as a musician with it.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

When someone wants a paid gig for free. I experienced this with other kinds of consulting too. People want to see what they can get away with. I also don’t like when I am trying to focus and get on stage and I get bothered by people.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

I perform out of state but I always thank, recognize, and appreciate my audience and mentors. I have a website and Facebook page and inform people who want to know about upcoming gigs.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

YouTube, the drive to do what it takes for singing ranging from vocal health, exercise, diet, or what the voice teachers recommend including practice and other related experiences.

Share some awesome artists that we’ve never heard of.

My friend and mentor for jazz, Drew Paton.
