Rawk N Roll Outlaw

Story

Hi Folks, I Am Frank "Flash" Woodburn - aka - "Rawk N Roll Outlaw", Rawker, Pro Musician (vocals, guitar, bass, keys, drums & harmonica), Song writer, Recording Engineer/Producer (formerly with GSR Productions in association with Canadian American Records/Caprice International Recordings, Records and Tapes), Former Regional Music Video Show Host "The Real Rock Show" and Former Host of "Total metal television"... In the past I have also been involved in artist management and development, booking, lighting and sound tech, internet DJ, stand up comedy and Emcee of local & regional events.... Nice To Meet You. I started playing guitar at age 6, playing pro at age 12, recording here and there in my late teens and owned the first version of my home studio by age 23. I am totally self taught (a gift from God) in all I do musically, every instrument I play, engineering and producing recordings and even doing much of my own repair work on my gear. I am 58 years young (as of 5/7/17) and still going (sort of, dealing with a left hand injury which I hope to be playing again soon) with no plans to stop anytime soon, God willing. If you want to know more or have any questions you can send me a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Keep rockin' and please support your local unsigned and indie artists

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Next to God and my family, Music is my world, I started singing when I learned to talk and playing guitar at 6 years old and I picked up all the other instruments over the next few decades. At 58 years old (59 on may 7th) I have been doing this a very long time and it is my life in many ways.

What is your music dream?

Just to be heard and enjoyed and to make many friends along the way or turn many fans into friends.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

Hehehe, yeah, I can't go there, I am very opinionated on many things that could be changed in the world today and I am sure I would start a fire storm of discussion from opposing sides that I would rather not start... After all, I am a musician, not a politician. ;)

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

To many to mention, I grew up with music all around me, I had a lot of favorite tunes.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Way to many to mention.

What inspires you to make music?

Inspiration comes from many sources, it could be something I see while walking down the street or a conversation I hear, maybe something in a movie I see or a memory. To say it comes from one or a few things would, for me at least, be like having creative tunnel vision.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

I send many messages with my music, it just depends on where the inspiration comes from. Sometimes there is no real message, sometimes it is just something I want the listener to feel and enjoy.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

Blessed to be able to do it.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

I say it all the time, to many DJ's playing digital music, to many computer artists out there with far less talent than real musicians. An improvement would be more live music venues, more real musicians performing real music and decent pay, at least enough to pay for gas and guitar strings and a bite to eat... I hate pay to play or play and play for free should only be for benefits to help a charity or someone who has need.

What do you think of Drooble?

I am impressed so far, I just started yesterday so time will tell but if these first 24 hours are a good representation of what Drooble will always be then I think this is going to be one of the top sites for musicians.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

To many DJ's, not enough live music with real bands these days.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Yes, I promote fellow artists locally, I post their gigs on my facebook page and other pages and when possible I try to get around to see them perform as well.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

I think the important thing is to just be real, musicians just need to be themselves. A lot has been done in music so it is hard to be completly original these days but to be yourself, write and play what makes you feel good and challange yourself... often... that is what I believe is key these days.
