The Nefarious Ferrets are Frank and Donna Parker of Gastonia, NC. Meeting each other in 2006, at ConCarolinas, they realized they had many things in common: science fiction, a love of music, and a love of ferrets. It was a match made in fandom and the following year at ConCarolinas 2007, they were married. They started performing as the Nefarious Ferrets in 2009 at RavenCon. Since then they have performed at the Geek Gala in Charlotte, ConCarolinas Filk and Campfire Circles, and the Georgia Filk Convention (GaFilk in 2X10s). They were the 2017 Filk Guests at AtomaCon in Charleston SC, and are returning performers at RavenCon 2018, ConCarolinas 2018, and play numerous house filks in North and South Carolina. At AtomaCon 2017, they “adopted” bass player D.J. McGuire, in his own words, “The second best bass player in my own damn band,” from the Dimensional Riffs. He makes a fantastic addition to the group. The Ferrets are charter members, along with Larry Kirby of St Matthews, SC, of Filk Carolina, dedicated to spreading all genre of science fiction and fandom music. Like the seeds of a dandelion spreading music through space and time, they are minstrels of the night.
