What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music to me is creation visited, it is an outlet from which I can escape the routine of a working mans' life. The noise of humanity goes away and I make my own little universe, I write my own gospel, my songs are my testament of who I am and how I lived my life, the gains , the losses, the near misses, the targets hit. I live within the light and darkness and the view is 360 degrees, never blinded , and never squinting to see..music is this magical spell concocted up when I need a lift, the perfect high and the perfect low.

What is your music dream?

I have already made that dream a reality, all my children love music and play , they write, they create..they are the music dream .

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

I would abolish all political parties and all borders.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

This is a tough one as I grew up when music was so ..overwhelmingly good, so original, so much experimentation going on , there was a genesis going on , from acoustic, brass and into the electrical age..but of the music, mine was simple...a folk song "Irish Soldier Boy" off a Paddy Noonan album ..I learned it , I sang it to my Grandmother and she cried, it had touched her deeply as she had lost her son Maurice in WWII...that was the day my life concerning music changed.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Moody Blues, Clancy Brothers, Dylan, The Who, Captain Beyond , Frank Zappa, The Byrds, The Band ,Roy Orbison,BB King, and on and on...

What inspires you to make music?

Satisfaction of creating, letting thoughts go, they may not help me but they might help others...

What is the message you want to send with your music?

be free, accept who you are, accept others, realize the dark is as beautiful as the light, the gray is a good place to rest.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

I feel a connection, I feel I am the gatekeeper, a guy that can take them away form their everyday and make it a better day.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

I think its all good , its all healthy, I think music making has become affordable and I think its not as judgmental as it was, that artists have a greater free range of creativity..that small home studios can be wonderful , the net connects musicians to each other , its a great time to be a musician, we could improve it all by paying musicians for their services and music.Make it easier to be a "living"..

What do you think of Drooble?

I am new here , I feel like a dinosaur , so its great meeting up with all these wonderful people..lots of sincere talent .

What frustrates you most as a musician?

Critics that are of full of themselves , destroying rather then trying help .The lack of good booking agents, honest booking agents..the lack of money for young artists.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

I try to take in as much as I can , there are open mike nights, a few clubs , not enough for sure.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Personality , patience, stay in touch with reality , the reality of the business, play your best material and play it well, stay within your talent level, write there as well, know how to use the net to get your songs out there, protect your copyrights..be loyal to your fan base they care so you care.

Share some awesome artists that we’ve never heard of.

I will respond in question, have you heard of Jacob Augustine, Rebel Son Rise, Donnybrook of Maine , not the west coast group? they were also called Red Cloud Revival... they are on You Tube, Mybandcamp if you want to hear them.
