Eric Stradinger

Story

Eric is an independent instrumental artist hailing from Vermont. His works range from lighthearted quirkiness to 14+ minute introspective conceptual labors of love and all points in between. Many different facets are incorporated into his music; heavily layered guitars, atmospheric interludes and odd time signatures to name but a few. He first picked up the guitar at age 8 and is, for the most part, self taught. A graduate of the NYU Clive Davis Music Program containing a deep submersive dive into the psychological nature of self, music, inspiration and the creative process as a whole. A periodic guitar instructor, occupies his time writing, recording, observing and embracing all things positive. His music has been featured on radio stations including; VPR WOXM 90.1FM, 104.7FM, WYBC 94.3FM and WOSU 89.7FM. Alongside terrestrial radio, he is in rotation on many web based stations. What is music to you? What does it give you?

In a word, everything.

What is your music dream?

To be able to wake up every morning and continue to create.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

For everyone to love and exhibit empathy for everyone else because we're all in this together and for all to go vegan. Peace and Light to all.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

There's just too many.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Too many to name.

What inspires you to make music?

For better or worse, mostly everything.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

This is who I am and how I percieve the world, my surroundings and my mind.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

It's been a while since but, there really is nothing like it.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

What needs to change is that the industry as a whole needs to come down off it's pedestal and treat all artists and musicians as creative equals. Music and all art forms should not be treated simply as a commodity.

What do you think of Drooble?

I just started here but so far so good.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

What frustrates me most is the business side of it all.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Of course! Mostly in the realm of plugging, sharing and listening as well as purchasing albums and works.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Hard work and constant effort.
