Eric Garretson

I love all sorts of music. Love being introduced to new music and love playing newer styles. But at the end of the day, when I want to listen to music to just enjoy myself, its almost always 80s metal

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music is everything to me. It's my happiness, it's my sadness. It's my inspiration yet it is my downfall too. Without it I'd be nothing. I'd be a grain of sand in the desert. But with music I can become unique. It's my identity and without it I'm just another face in a crowd of mediocrity

What is your music dream?

I'd like to just be a songwriter

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

Eliminate hate and bigotry

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

Goodbye yellow brick road.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Ozzy,Black Sabbath, and newer bands like Parkway Drive, Trivium, Bullet for my valentine, Godsmack, and many more

What inspires you to make music?

It's how I escape the horrors of the world for a minute.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

I dont really have a message to send. It's really just my way to get out all my dark thoughts and do something productive with them rather than destructive

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

Excited. Like that first line of cocaine. Adrenaline

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

It's too commercialized. I would like to see a band stay on their own artistic path rather than having pressure to be a certain way by producers

What do you think of Drooble?

I think it's cool. A way to hear music from artists that haven't been discovered from everywhere.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

How much of a role that location plays in being discovered.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Yes. I go watch local music any chance I get. I buy merch and encourage others to go too.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Originality and the ability to play their instruments well and write songs that can appeal to a large audience
