Music is in my blood, my parents played growing up, my dad's father and his grandfather all played drums. I always wanted to play drums. Eventually got into music and went to community college for music, started bands with friends, wrote songs, they were flaky, and I wanted more, I wanted to dedicate myself to it. My music is the culmination of who I am and what I love: metal music, dark fantasy, and stories. I love epics, I love concept albums and songs that all connect. Chronicler of Ardul is that. Add in some video game music influences, and this is what I got. Chronicler of Ardul is my story I've been working on for years and am finally putting together and releasing.
I want to create something beautiful. My favorite music takes a journey, it’s an experience, and I want it to tell a story.
My music dream is to have my world created through music. Lore and stories and world building, and all of it connected.
Bohemian Rhapsody. I have always loved this song, from when I was a kid and didn't have a real sense of taste in music, to discovering what I like, to growing up and changing and discovering more music. I think it's a contributor to my style as well.
Shadow of Intent, Jinjer, Mental Cruelty, Nobuo Uematsu, Yasunori Nishiki, Synestia, Opeth. There's so much out there, it's hard to think of them all.
The need to create something I think is beautiful. It's beautiful in my eyes, even the dark and evil and dissonant stuff. There's beauty in the darkness that I love exploring.
Besides trying not to mess up and try to give the audience a good show, excited I get to share what I've created with others. It's a great feeling that I hope I can get them to feel as well.
Marketing is the most frustrating, it's hard to sell myself as an artist. And sometimes I think I have it kind of figured out and it doesn't work next time. Slowly but surely, I'll get there.
