Music is oxygen to me. I cannot imagine life without. Everything emotion worth feeling can be felt through music.
I just want to be known as a songwriter. I have always dreamed of being a recording artist, but I took a break from gigging to be a Dad. I am catching up later in life, so the young faces that Nashville looks for doesn't look like mine. But I love playing for the folks in my home state. Just being locally known as an artist is fine with me. But I would love nothing more than to make a living writing.
Wow. If there was ever a song that could be written to bring peace to this polarizing time I would write it.
The first I remember ever getting chills from was Home Sweet Home, played on a banjo by the kid down the street.
Steve Earle, Springsteen, Isbell, Cole Chaney, the storytellers
Just the hope that it can bring joy to others in some way
Peace. Love. History. Jesus
Total Adrenaline Rush (most times). When they are digging it, nothing better.
Tough. On one hand the music available to us is overwhelming and a lot like drinking out of a fire house. That can be good and bad. Good that its accessible, but bad in that it is so hard to sift through it all to find the good stuff. Radio has turned into playlist curators and I am just not sure that system is allowing the best music in. Only the songs getting into the main playlists are able to earn anything at all. There is so much competition out there these days it's harder than it ever was to crack into the business. Of course, most everyone agrees that country radio today is broken, with only a select few exceptions.
so far so good

Sure, we always try to catch local shows when I'm not in them.
Marketing skills. Social Media Skills. A huge supportive fan base to start with that is willing to travel. Good music is a given, most everyone has some of that
