Daan-Louis has been fascinated by the music paradigm since the age of ten. At this tender age he learned to play the recorder and persued the keyboard shortly after. At the age of 18 he ambitiously persued studying the guitar at the Music Academy of Gauteng, 2004. While studying he not only learned to play the sliding trombone but also improved his piano and vocal skills. After the passing of his muse, his father, Daan-Louis inherited a variety of instruments, one being a saxophone – an instrument he is passionately learning to master. This however is not the sum of his talent. Not only does he play the instruments mentioned earlier, but also a kaleidoscope of others which include: base guitar, drums, and harmonica. He currently performs solo but also enjoys sharing the stage with other artists. Not only has he performed with names such as: Rea le Roux, Anton Oosthuizen, Janine Fourie, and Tanja Storm, but also Brighette Deister, Micheal Lindt, Pieter Mohr, Maritza and Rhino-and-Rasta. This however is not where it ends, he has also had the experience of performing with bands such as : All In, Plofstof, Liquid State and the Acoustic Rebels. Although Daan-Louis grew up on the outskirts of Gauteng, he currently resides in the beautiful coastal city of George. This however does not limit him geographically as he has performed at a multitude of locations, not only in South Africa, but also Namibia. His audience variety is just as diverse. A statement proven by his performances at venues such as the prestine Oubaai Hotel, Emperors Palace, Point of Human Origins – Pinnacle Point, Carnival City, Oranjemund, KKNK and Kyalami Race Track. Daan-Louis’ genre of performance includes music from the 80’s 90’s, Afrikaans, Country, POP, Reaggae and Rock. He will captivate his audience with original music and by covers from artists such as Don Williams, Dire Straits, Queen, Bok van Blerk, Neil Diamond and many more...
