Collette SplitVision Wijkander

Story

Artist Collette SplitVision started off playing the drums and writing songs in Split Vision Band. Later on she started singing in a duo with Bosse Skoglund AKA GreatGrandpa. SplitVision & GreatGrandpa released a CD with SplitVision songs, now doing vocals herself - in August 2014 -  "What's The Matter With U?"  After the CD was recorded, SplitVision started up a band, SplitVisionFamily with up to 8 musicians. She is also performing solo or in other constellations. A project with SplitVisionAcoustic, a trio with Guitar: Tanja Hedman from SplitVision Band and contra Bass: Mats Sparr from SplitVisionFamily resulted in release “FinallyFed2, 2017. Lately she worked with a Swedish Latin producer, Leslie Morel, released “LetsMakeMotherEarthGreatAgain” in 2019. SplitVision Music goes many different ways. The music has it's own touch and sound connected with the odd singing and Lyrics of SplitVision

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music brings in the magic to life. The best way to comunícate and to be touched.

What is your music dream?

I would love to have an agent, a manager etc. I also wish that I had access to a profesional studio with staff. Then I would record all my songs and be able to produce many more.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

I would forbid all Animal industrial Business

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Bob Marley and Tracy Chapman

What inspires you to make music?

Whenever some issue gets on my mind, good or bad, I have to make a song about it.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

Respect All Life and All Earthlings on our planet. Care for Mother Earth.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

I feel connected and free.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

More money to the musicians. Today you have to do so much office work which bothers me. I rather only make music and perform. The good thing is that you easily can get in touch with your fans.

What do you think of Drooble?

Don’t know yet, seems to be a cool community.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

As I said, all the office work and technical stuff. It’s hard to do everything yourself.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

I go to gigs now and then and to festivals.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

I guess you have to, besides being an artist, be a - manager, producer, secretary, agent.......etc It’s a jungle out there on the internet and most communities wants the artist to pay to get the music heard. I think that’s really strange.

Of course! The one and only - Sofie Reed. She has a “One Woman Band” but perform occasionally with a basist. Sofie Reed is an amazing artist with her own sound and lovely voice.
