Round the Globe (RTG) is a collaboration of music with lyrics written by Clarissa (Clare) Steffen, and songs co-written with musicians all around the world. The intention to promote, hope, love, and encouragement, and global healing. The impetus is World Music with an emphasis on Indie/Urban Folk, Folk Rock, Blues, Jazz, Americana, Celtic, and Country.

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music is healing! Music is a universal language and connects us all and transcends language and social barriers. While people are engaged in the music they can forget about judgment and differences and just connect to one another in appreciation of the experience and universal love.

What is your music dream?

My dream has been to bring global healing through music and to promote the concept that messages for healing are found in all genres of music. Music is a universal language and we can better understand one another through tapping into the creative and intuitive brain that is accessible through music. The dream has been to co-write and collaborate with musicians from all around the world and that is happening through the Round The Globe project.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

One of the Round The Globe albums is entitled, Change the World. the point of the song is that we can all take small steps in improving the world when we focus our intention to encourage one another and bring about global healing.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Dan Fogelberg, The Eagles, Dave Mason, James Taylor, Carole King.

What inspires you to make music?

The desire to communicate and make the world a better place. I am inspired to promote healing through music and to help people overcome trauma and equalize social injustice.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

Encouragement, hope, healing, and sustainability through universal messages of love that are found in music in all its different genres. A shared vision of healing our emotions and issues of social injustice that can be addressed are evoked through music.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

Nervous, but excited to connect.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

Of course, the financial agreements for downloaded music.

What do you think of Drooble?

So far, it is a very good experience.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

When people become overly ego involved and less focused on the intent of the music.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

I go and listen to music and purchase other musicians music.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

The ability to promote their music and let others know what makes their music stand out or how it is different from other musician's work. They also have to do the hard work of getting the music on the radio, and out on other sites for others to hear.
