Same old story of started playing music as a teenager. Played in a few bands, and tried to make it a career. Focused on my day job for a while and I am back to making music. Started Band geek Records in 1999 and did an internship at a studio in Chicago. Released several albums by indie artists from across the country, all before social media made it so much easier. Know I am doing the same thing but just enjoying it. Finding the balance between my day job and music. Just looking to create, play, and share my passion for music with the world.
Music is life.
For people to enjoy what I create.
Instead of dropping bombs, we drop tracks!
Hi-Infidelity by REO Speedwagon was very impressionable on me at a young age. However, THE REAL THING by Faith No More when I was 10 really is the start of my passion for music.
Too many to list that span the last 30 years. Right now the SPOTLIGHTS is one of my favorites. If I had to choose only one, or a "of all time" it would have to be Faith No More.
Soundwaves have such an impact on emotions. Music is a collection of emotions.
Just create and like what you make.
Love performing and having people dig what I am doing.
The only thing stopping musicians these days is creativity. The tools to create are amazing and the outlets to share music instantly are abundant. 20 years ago this was much harder to do with limited financing.
Just started, not sure yet.
Audiences. People don't take the time to appreciate the music and the artist. At least when you are DIY and INDIE. Even other musicians/bands. We gotta support each other. At the end of the day aren't we all just fans of music?
Yes. I do everything I can. That's why I started a label, learned recording engineering, graphic design, anything we needed to have a scene I would lean to do. Even if it wasn't great, we could be DIY and support ourselves; never wait for some to do it for you!
Make the music you make, don't try to be someone else. It' frustrating that someone on YouTube playing a cover gets more attention than an artist playing an original song. We as a community need to support each. Be the first follower, and that will get others to come along.
