Chris Gardner

Me

I've been playing guitar since I was 14 years old. I fell in love with it and was inspired by not only the music I listened to but my older brother. I started picking up how to play on my own, no lessons required. I started writing music and songs around the the time I was 19, and I haven't stopped. Music revolves around not only my life, but my two daughters and my wife's life as well. I don't ever see me stopping. Everything in life inspires me and I always find time to pick up my guitar and microphone and play.

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music gives me a satisfaction like nothing else in the world. It gives me a chance to release emotions whether I'm as happy as can be, or completly miserable. Music makes me who I am, and it always has and always will.

What is your music dream?

My music dream is to play in front of thousands of people and go on tours and promote records and have fun with my band mates doing it.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

If I could change the world one the first thing woukd be all the hate and bullshit going on right now with it. We all need to work together and come together.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

I woukd have to say Iron Man by Black Sabbath. Me and my dad woukd kisten to that song, and sing along and it was just awesome. And to think about that today just makes me think where would I be without that moment?

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Hands down Nirvana, along with Alice in Chains I'm inspired and drawn into their music without a doubt. Just makes me feel at home when I hear a song by those two bands.

What inspires you to make music?

What doesn't? In all honesty my personal demons have been inspiration from the start. And then things that are going on in this country that effects everyone of us just makes for great music.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

At times the message isnt what I want to send its what needs to be sent, and at times its don't give up and don't give in. And other times its have a great day!

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

I feel that energy that they're giving off. Its like doing an 8ball of coke. Who needs drugs when you have a crowd like that? Its exciting!

What do you think of Drooble?

So far so good. I really have not one complaint :-) and thats a fantastic thing!

What frustrates you most as a musician?

When I have writers block. Or just stare at my guitar for months and can't think of new material.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Yes of course, I go to shows and buy merch. And get the word out for people to listen to them or tell them to go to one of the shows and check them out.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Be on the ball. You say you're gonna do something get up and do it. Get a single out, get it heard get the peoples heads bobbing. A positive attitude leads to a great start!
