What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music has been the only life I've known since I was 20 years old. I've been able to travel the world, open for numerous national acts, record on both coasts as well as here in Colorado and meet some awesome people. Now I have my own drum studio and have recorded drums for acts as close as CO and also Canada, France and the Ukraine to name a few.

What is your music dream?

I've been fortunate to kind of live it, and now my dream is to bring my knowledge and experience to the table as I record drum tracks for a wide ranging clientele. If you want groove and pocket, I've got you, no matter what the style.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

Everyone respecting each other, no matter the differences.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

Ha!!! Probably Green Eyed Lady from when I was still in H.S.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Beatles, Jimi, Cream and Zep with Mitch Mitchell, John Bonham, Ginger Baker initially and then I discovered Steve Gadd!

What inspires you to make music?

The way playing makes you feel.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

As a session player, I would say musical integrity and an honest approach to songs.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

There's nothing like it, and I've played from 3 people to 30,000 people!!

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

I think that there are a lot of musicians who don't respect their craft and that bothers me. If you're fortunate enough to be able to play professionally, don't ever forget those who don't have the skills who would love to be on that stage, and always show your appreciation for your craft. I recently taught for 4 1/2 years at the local School of Rock and I feel the future is actually in pretty good hands.

What do you think of Drooble?

I just discovered it, but I already think we're going to have a great relationship.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

How difficult it can be to make a decent living at the one thing I'm really good at.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

I'm a working musician myself, so when I can't make it to other's gigs, I support them on social media, word of mouth, and since I'm more experienced, I share my knowledge with those who show an interest.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

If you have musical knowledge and skills, it's a good start. Being humble is crucial, as is having a product people want to hear. Know who you are and who you're targeting and don't be afraid to network with those who have had more experience in the business than you.

Share some awesome artists that we’ve never heard of.

Mohini Dey, Vulfpeck, Drumbassadors, Casiopea
