During my life I found live music to be essential, esp. blues, rock, jazz and soul. Worked in a hardrock/metal youth center, a cultural center, and a jazz bar booking bands, setting up the light show, serving drinks and learning from musicians and audiences. I first took guitar lessons, but switched over to bass when I understood it's potential. My wife Ilene started on hammond age 4, helping to sell them. Age 12, she started with cello, and 60, ukelele. She's teaching music with all of her heart, hoping one good day life turns into one big happy musical. We like to make people dance, smile and think about a better life -or enjoy their current one. It's much harder to not step into ready-made clichés with the old guitar-bluesharp-stomp, but much more interesting too, to be a pioneer.
Music is motivation, happiness, inspiration, central to life. It's almost completely opposite of money.
Recording with (one of) my big heroes. Recently was backstage with one, so I feel that with the right mind and motivation it can and will happen. Always be careful what you wish for!
Promoting Universal Basic Income, making the money mongrels shiver. Their bullshit has really taken enough years out of our lives, to provide for golf courses they only attend once in their life. Owning second, third, fourth villa's they can't maintain. Sitting on money that otherwise could have been used for development, job creation, joy. I would also make people think about the real role of pharmaceutical industries, universities, stock exchange etc, the new religions.
Beatles-A Day In The Life
Beatles, Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Frank & Dweezil Zappa, Santana, Paco, Jaco, Miles, LKJ, Marley, Funkadelic, and the endless list of great artists that I forgot mentioning here.
my moods
apart from 'go dancing!' I would like people to start listening and think about our words. Mine still have to surface in more songs. But Karaoke Singer is right on the spot when it comes to music being taken away from musicians, because some folks bought loud PA systems and light shows and are successfully fooling mass audiences with it.
Great! no matter if there's just one, or a bunch, I'm trying to connect, smile, make silly moves
it's a sad state of affairs. Sharing is caring. There's a very hypocritical elite in the music scene that dislikes everyone else getting business. It's become back-stabbery. Audiences preferring EDM and/or tributes don't help.
Very interesting. Kinda Musicfrom.nl or vitaminic.com, sites that already went broke. Hope this site won't go there.
not getting recognition within the blues scene because Ilene doesn't walk all of the old paths, doesn't want to do the cliches. She IS a Hendrix in her own time, a Pioneer.
Going to as many gigs as I can afford, which is hard since we live remote, only way to survive in CA.
Be young and handsome/pretty, do hiphop/rap or EDM or have famous parents or a big bag of money.
