Story

Black Light Circle band is Artie Desbiens, Karen Fieldhouse, and Wayne Philips, they are based in northern NJ. They are heavily influenced by 70's classic rock; . They share vocals, and feature electric and acoustic guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, and drums. Their debut CD Lothlorien contains acoustic as well as rock tracks, with a lot of vocal harmony throughout; it's a very diverse musical endeavor, and reminiscent of songs from the '70's. The band concentrates on venues that cater to original music, Black Light Circle has been featured on the Scott Rox Radio show, KSVY 97.1 out of Sonoma, CA, Rock On Radio and What’s Next as the guests of Danny Coleman; twice as the guests of Stoner Dave and Killer Kowalski on Pirate Radio/40footholestudio.com, and most recently played Roxy and Duke’s Roadhouse In Dunellen, NJ. December 2016: Black Light Circle is happy to announce the release of their second CD, Colours of Cats, an exclusive mix of old school rock with a 70's flavor, with a dash of country rock, and a beautiful ballad for good measure. Give it a listen! June 2017: Black Light Circle's third CD, Mythical Creatures, has just been released! On Mythical Creatures, the bands musical roots are evident, with power-driven guitars strong, bluesy vocals. Give it a listen, the tunes will be in your head for days. My favorite band Is Led Zeppelin, I also love the Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Neil Young, Yes, Pink Floyd, Rush, the Beatles

What inspires you to make music?

I never thought about it, I just find myself doing it. its a part of me.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

Buy More of my Music, lol, no I guess it would be Lets go back in time.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

Nervous, Stressed out, Happy, Productive, Focused,

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

wow, I could say so much about this, I Think Its just to easy for anyone to make music and put it out there, and they do, anyone and everyone, Technology has evened the playing field, and made it so easy and at the same time so hard to be successful. I think people are overwhelmed with the choices they have. they shut down and its hard to reach them, Radio used to be the only Media for music, and then you had to buy the record in a record store, now you have to give your music away. That is literally what bands are doing just to get people interested and out to the shows.

What do you think of Drooble?

I don't know, I just got on here. it seems pretty cool.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

Getting people to shows. And having to give away the songs I worked so hard on.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Yes I do. I go out and see bands, and I help promote other bands on social mediaa

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Persistance, Open mindedness.
